Our Mission

  

To tell meaningful and life-changing stories using visual and audio digital media and community engagement to produce documentaries, podcasts, and feature films that engage the audience to affect positive change in themselves and their community.

What We Do

 Straight Street Media is a nonprofit media organization that creates thought-provoking projects to inspire positive change. More than just entertainment, our documentaries, podcasts, films, and other digital media offerings are designed to connect and engage the audience. We are committed to "opening Eyes to a New Vision."

If You Are My Brothers

 If You Are My Brothers is a documentary and outreach project that follows the journey of two African-American men who are fraternity brothers with prostate cancer.  These two stories are intricately intertwined... two men with their challenges...two men with a common bond of brotherhood and hope.

A Boomer dad and his Millennial son have candid and informative discussions covering a wide range of topics, from economics and sports to relationships,  politics, and health. Their different generational perspectives offer unique insights while they strive to find common ground and understanding.

PowerPoint Archival Project

PowerPoint was the first national program on public radio to address issues affecting the African-American community, the nation, and the world. The program, created and produced by Straight Street Media’s founder and executive producer, Reggie Hicks, aired between 1997 and 2004.

Jesse Lee Williams, a street hustler from Miami, decides to leave the city after a traumatic incident involving his long-time girlfriend and the mother of his son. He sees Atlanta as a place where he can start fresh. However, a string of unfortunate events leaves Jesse Lee homeless on the streets of Atlanta.
